Scary Day

Scary Day for Baby O. and myself. I was at work and I tripped and fell down a flight of stairs. I went to the OB and I'm okay and the baby is totally okay (whew!) and has even kicked me a few times since, and the heartbeat is great. Feeling very relieved and blessed right now!

Hello

Happy Wednesday all! We're just home from the doctor where we got to hear the heartbeat again:) It was a healthy 150. We also scheduled our next ultrasound where they determine the sex, which will be the 12th of August. They refused to budge on the date, as they want their new physician to perform it, and he won't start until the 8th. Apparently NC OB/GYN receptionists cannot be bribed.

So yesterday we put our crib together! We bought it now because the store was having a ridiculously large sale and it it would have been crazy to pass it up. We thought it was tres early to be setting it up until just about everyone I encountered today who has children told me they set theirs up around now during their pregnancy or even earlier!

Before (this could be awhile!)

After
PS Mommy thinks that perhaps Daddy should set the changing table up solo ;-)

16 Weeks!

Good morning! Happy Sunday! We're 16 weeks today, which means that soooooon we can find out if we're having a boy or a girl! Right now Baby O. can start to hold it's little head up in my womb and is the size of an avocado :) forcing me to buy my first pair of maternity jeans. How comfy are those? I have no idea why ALL jeans don't have a top like that. We see the Dr. on Wed. so we get to hear the heartbeat again! Wooooo!!! :)

Flutter

To my great surprise I felt the first tiny kick today!
It felt like a few kernels of tiny fluttering popcorn popping!
LOVED IT!

15 Weeks

Woohoo, week 15! The weeks are definitely flying by fast!

Baby O. is now about 4 inches long (or the size of a softball), and I have to say I am LOVING the belly getting bigger!

I've read that it this point the baby can suck it's thumb, which prepares it for future feeding, and of course makes me melt thinking about the adorableness of a tiny Baby O. sucking it's tiny thumb in my tummy :)

On another note, I've been seeing a lot of lists about "things you shouldn't say to a pregnant woman" and have my own:
1. I don't want to hear about how horribly miserable your labor was. No really, you aren't being helpful at ALL.
2. I don't want to hear about how easy-breezy your labor was either. What do you want? A cookie? Again with the not helpful bit.
3. "My sister/cousin/friend/aunt was sooo much bigger/smaller than you at this time!"
4. Any remarks from males who feel the need to tell me all about how this being pregnant thing works. Yeah, unless you've had a uterus with a child in it, I don't want to hear your "theories" on pregnancy.
xxoo! Continue with your regularly scheduled blogging now!

14 Weeks!

14 weeks! Right now the baby is about 3.5-4.5 inches inches long (about the size of a fist) and has gained the ability to movie it's little eyes this week :)

I am a feeling SO much better- no more morning sickness (knock on wood) and I was actually able to muster up enough energy to stay up for the fireworks last night! Wooooo! Here's a shot of my ever-growing baby belly (the jammies and bed head look to boot).

Nesting

For the past 8 days I have wanted to do nothing but CLEAN. Since you're reading this, you probably know me well enough to know that cleaning is not on my short list of fave activities! So basically right now my house is spotless, but not clean enough for me. I am surprised I have not been following Mike and the cat around with the Dust Buster (although that doesn't sound like a bad idea). As I try to fall asleep at night, I lay there and think about what else I could be organizing, cleaning or throwing away. Oy vey!

14 weeks tomorrow!!!! So excited! The baby gets to experience it's first concert- James Taylor in Montreal!
